The annual pledge drive is the main source of support for church operations. Each spring we ask every UUCR member and friend to make a pledge for the coming year to sustain the mission and work of the church. Pledges may be paid in a lump sum at the start of the fiscal year or in regular installments over the course of the year.

UUCR was founded in 1827 and since that time its members and friends have cherished it. We are the current stewards of our church, taking care of it and helping it to grow and thrive. By generously sharing our gifts of time, talent, and treasure, we ensure that our church community stays vibrant and strong.

Our Pledge Drive Theme is “Today’s Commitment, Tomorrow’s Community”

This year marks the 100th anniversary of our church building.  Back in 1924 the congregation made their commitment to the future of our beloved community when they built the new church.  Now it is our turn to do the same one hundred years later.

So we have chosen “Today’s Commitment, Tomorrow’s Community” as our Pledge Drive theme this year.

Our goal: $365,000

The Finance Council has developed a preliminary FY25 budget.  In order to balance it we need to raise $365K in pledges.  It’s a real stretch, but reaching our goal is essential to keeping our finances on a solid footing.

How Much Should I Give to UUCR?

Only you know the amount that fits your budget and priorities. The UUA’s Suggested Fair Share Contribution Guide (FAQ) recommends giving a percentage of your income. This allows us all to make a meaningful and equitable contribution. The Fair Share contribution is between 2% and 6% of take-home pay.

Last year’s average annual pledge was $3,400, with some giving less and some a lot more. Our largest pledge was $30,000 and our smallest was $240. Please review your pledge to make sure you are giving your “Fair Share”.

Your contributions are essential to keeping our doors open, our programs running, and our community thriving.  Every pledge, large and small, will be gratefully received.
