The Deal on Those Days – General Assembly Worship

Video service via YouTube only

The General Assembly gathers UUs from all over the country, to enact decision-making processes, to learn together, and to worship together. GA will have aired this service live earlier in the week on west coast time, we will broadcast it on this Sunday so that all might participate in the national moment. “In this moment, when so many of us might be wondering if we should just give up, and relent, now’s the time instead to double down on our commitment to the local church – this unique community that saves us and also breaks our hearts – often much more of the latter than we’d like to admit. In the midst of our culture of death, the church is a place of life. Or it is, as long as we are willing to bring our own lives to it. Join us for a morning of celebration, witness, and future-visioning for the already and not yet power of the local Unitarian Universalist church.”

The service this year is led by Rev. Gretchen Halery, minister of the Foothills Unitarian Universalist Church in Fort Collins Colorado, supported by Rev. Sean Neil-Barron and Shari Halliday-Quan.

Summer Service Format: Our summer worship series is broadly theme based, with multiple readings and a short sermon designed to spark conversation. Following the service, please stay, grab a drink, and circle around to go deeper together! In the conversation circle following the service, we will share our joys and sorrows, offer one another our thoughts on the theme for that Sunday, and deepen our connections to one another.
