In many Native American traditions the great blue heron symbolizes resilience, self-determination, patience, and wisdom. On this quilt the heron gazes toward the dawn of a new day embodying our hope for a brighter, more just and peaceful future for our community, country, and the world.

Machine quilted by Diane Joe. The finished quilt measures 60 by 84 inches.
