Kris Kringle Fair
The Kris Kringle Fair is the church’s biggest fellowship event and fundraiser of the year. When the fair comes around each fall, everyone at UUCR organizes, donates, bakes, cooks, sings, plays music, greets, staffs tables, or shops – working side by side to make this daylong fair a much-anticipated and enjoyed event for the church, for Reading, and for surrounding communities.
The 2024 fair will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9am to 2pm. Sales will take place indoors as well as under the tent. Booths include Attic Treasures, Toys and Kids Books, Silent Auction, Potpourri, Boutique, Raffle, Live Music, Baked Goods, Country Store, Jewelry, and Snack Bar.
Preparations are underway. Donations will be accepted starting on November 3 at 2pm.
Needed Now!
JEWELRY: Please place donations for the JEWELRY table in the marked basket in the Atrium. The Jewelry elves will make your old earrings, pins, necklaces, and cufflinks shine, but they need time to sort, clean, and card for an enticing display.
RAFFLE TICKETS: Buy them early! Tickets for the Raffle Quilt, LEGO sets, Lottery Tickets, and more will be on sale in Fellowship Hall after church through Sunday, November 3rd and at the Fair.
SILENT AUCTION: Higher quality items that could spark a bidding war. Artwork, collectibles, antiques, tickets to a show or a sporting event, etc. Email a photo and a description of your donation to [email protected] to allow us to start entering your donations ASAP. Bidding will close after the rest of the Fair, with pick up of your prizes after church on Sunday, November 10th or by arrangement. See BidBeacon.com, access code PP726T to bid on your favorites.
Make what you love – and donate it to the Fair.
Hand crafted items for the BOUTIQUE. Can you sew or knit or crochet? Do you make jewelry? Can you decorate a wreath? Make pet toys? Make gift cards? Donate some to the Fair.
Home-made specialties are needed for the COUNTRY STORE. Jams, jellies, preserves, relishes, pickles, rubs, and pet treats are great sellers at the Fair.
Home-made cookies, cakes, pies, etc. are perfect for the BAKE TABLE. Please wrap your donations for individual sale, include a list of ingredients, and please remember, NO nuts or peanuts! Gluten-free goodies are welcome. Drop them off in the Atrium on the afternoon of Friday, November 8th or before 8:30 am on Saturday, November 9th.
Save Your Stuff! The Fair can sell many things you no longer need, while raising funds to support our church. Set them aside now, drop off starts from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Sunday, November 3rd, also 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday through Thursday. Baked goods can be dropped off from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 8th.
For ATTIC TREASURES: Gently used housewares, small furniture (fits in a car), decorative items, pictures, craft and pet supplies, linens, games and puzzles for adults are needed.
For POTPOURRI: BRAND NEW items that can be re-gifted. Someone will be glad to buy the item you bought and never opened, the gift someone gave you that didn’t hit the spot.
For KIDS TOYS AND BOOKS: All toys, children’s games and puzzles, children’s books, Halloween costumes.
