The groups listed below have a special focus of spiritual growth, and each also fosters heartfelt connections. Many activities welcome both youth and adults. For more information please contact our Member Services & Volunteer Coordinator.

Chalice Circles  UUCR’s small-group Chalice Circles deepen and broaden personal spiritual growth, foster connections and caring, and build strong community. With a facilitator, members discuss themes and readings and share what’s on their hearts. Circles always have an “extra chair” awaiting someone who’d like to join.

Choir  UUCR’s love of choral music goes back to its earliest days. Choir at UUCR is open to all. Its wide variety of musical performances complements and enhances Sunday services as well as special holiday celebrations. The choir also presents larger works, such as The Immigrant Experience, a cantata by John Kramer. The choir rehearses weekly. Committee on Ministry  The COM communicates and assesses the congregation’s mission and ministries, and recommends actions to advance the spiritual health of the congregation.

Intern Committee  An Intern Committee is created specifically for each Ministerial Intern, to offer them support, guidance, and feedback as they progress through their two-year internship at UUCR and the seven ministerial competencies.

Meditation  The Meditation Group provides meditation practices that are simple and expedient, and meant to offer peace to our members and guests. Classes are hybrid, offered both in person and via zoom.

Membership Team  Working closely with the Member Services and Volunteer Coordinator, the Membership Team welcomes visitors and new members while nurturing and sustaining members and friends who have chosen UUCR as their spiritual home. They stand ready to assist at any stage along the path to membership.

Music Committee  This committee supports, sustains, and promotes the role of music in our worship services and in our community life. The committee assists the Music Director in expanding the musical offerings, selecting music, maintaining equipment and the music library, and encouraging participation in the musical offerings at UUCR.

Religious Education Committee  Working creatively together, staff and lay leaders enthusiastically support the mission of faith development at UUCR to ensure that all programming  for children and youth is safe, staffed, contemporary, and accessible. This committee enjoys a diverse membership of volunteer leaders.

Small-Group Ministry Pods  In Pods, a few households (5-6 people) meet virtually to help fight isolation, care for one another, safely gather, deepen connections, and remain engaged with the congregation. Though UUCR staff provides guidance and monthly resources, each group structures its own get-togethers, from formal to informal.

Worship Arts Team  The Worship Arts Team supports the spiritual and intellectual life of the congregation by creating, coordinating, and presenting services in collaboration with the Minister and guest speakers. Team members also do readings and announcements at each Sunday service.
