William Faulkner wrote “you cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.” What is that “shore” for you? What is that shore for this religious community? What does courage look like in the 21stCentury?

It takes a village to raise a child, yet when that child has an addiction problem finding support for them and for the family becomes difficult often due to long held assumptions. The sermon will center around the Christian story of Jesus and the paralyzed man. The Reading Clergy Assn. has asked all of its members to preach on the addiction crisis this weekend.
