Guest Minister Rev. Evin Carvill Ziemer: Service & Workshop

On Sunday, October 5th, the Rev. Evin Carvill Ziemer, UUCR’s Regional Representative, will be preaching. Their sermon title is “Spirituality of Change.” Change can upend our lives, bring unwanted feelings, and exhaust us. It can also create a profound opportunity for personal growth, spiritual deepening, and community change. To do this requires compassion, gentleness, and intention — with ourselves and others.

Also on October 5th following the service, the Rev. Evin will offer a workshop!  Communicating with each other — at home, at work, at church, with family — is easier in times of lower stress. In times of higher stress, including times of change, we each have styles of communication that can, ironically, make communication harder even with those we love most. Come explore some ways of thinking about cultural communication styles that can help us understand each other better, connect instead of accidentally escalate, and support each other better when everything is too much. This workshop is offered to support the developmental goals the congregational leadership set for our congregation.
