Spring time brings many celebrations in religious life!
Children and families are invited to Children’s Sunday Gathering at 9:00 am (please note earlier time).
All are invited to Sunday Worship (10:00 am) with our guest Gregory C. Carrow-Boyd, who invites us to name what we believe is worthy and just. All are invited to worship!
Passover retells the journey of the Jewish people from slavery to freedom, from Egypt to the Promised Land. From generation to generation, this story has been passed down. We have invited Linda Snow Dockser, our Office Administrator, to share her family’s celebration of this favorite holiday. She will bring the Exodus story to life through Seder Plate Bingo, music, and the tradition of asking hard questions. If you would like to join this visit on Tuesday, March 30th at 6:30 pm, kindly register here: Passover with Linda 2021
Holy Week in Christian tradition marks the time when Jesus is said to have arrived in Jerusalem during the week before his death. We are invited to join neighboring churches in town as they set out reflection stations for folks to visit and reflect on the ‘Ways of Jesus’. We hope you’ll visit our Reflection Station (Rise UP) on Loring Porch, where you can reflect on Jesus’ story and how his advocacy for marginalized people speaks clearly across time. Our reflection station will invite you to reflect on your rising commitments to justice. We can represent our commitments for all to see – with colorful ribbons tied to our hedges on Summer Avenue! Learn more about our station and other churches to visit here: Inspired by the Life of Jesus-6 Outdoor Prayer/Reflection Stations
And later in the week, join Rev. Hank for a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 pm on April 1st, marking the story of Jesus’ final evening and supper with his friends. The story of the Last Supper holds many messages and invites us to make room at our own table for those who learn and love alongside us.
And we look forward to Easter Sunday (April 4th) when we will celebrate all that is rising in our hearts and minds as we move into new seasons of love and learning together.
Please join Sally and Katie on Wednesday evening for Family Support Check In, for adults caring for children/teens of all ages. We’ll open at 7:30 pm with a Chalice Lighting, a reading and open space for sharing what’s on your minds and in your hearts as you care for young people through these rapidly changing and challenging times.
