2022 UUCR Ferry Beach Weekend

Friday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 5th

For over 30 years, UUCR has spent a weekend together at Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine! Ferry Beach is now a Retreat and Conference Center, and they also run many summer camps. Come away with us and enjoy their 32 acre campus with many buildings, a private beach, a pine forest, and playground areas. This invitation is for EVERYONE – whether you have been to Ferry Beach many times before, or if this will be your first time attending. The weekend runs from the Friday evening of June 3rd through the Sunday afternoon of June 5th. Participants can enjoy the beach and socializing with UUCR members as well as congregants from the First Parish of Waltham, another UU Church. In past years, we have planned various activities such as a talent show, a sand castle building contest, an outdoor religious service, rock painting, social hour, campfire, sports and games and more. Some might just relax and read a book, or chat and make new friends. The Retreat Center provides a variety of lodging options and they provide us with four meals. Three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. If you would like to help with activities or have ideas for new ones, reach out to Debbie Vince, our Ferry Beach volunteer coordinator.

We know that some are excited to get back to Ferry Beach while others might still be feeling cautious. Ferry Beach has large porches and outdoor spaces, and they have instituted stringent COVID protocols, making us feel confident about safely attending this year.
