Visit Us
If you are new to UUCR or to Unitarian Universalism, there are many ways to become better acquainted with our community and its guiding principles. The first step is to come to a service. You can read beforehand about what to expect in our services. If you have questions or if we can greet you at the service, please contact our Member Services & Volunteer Coordinator.
Learn about Our Faith
If you are interested in exploring membership, we encourage you, if at all possible, to attend our popular Starting Point class. This class provides a chance to reflect on your individual spiritual journey, as well as to learn about the history of Unitarian Universalism, discuss Unitarian Universalist beliefs, and learn more about our congregation at UUCR. The emphasis is on fun, information, and getting to know other people who are new to the church. Starting Point is generally offered several times from September through May, in person and online. Childcare is provided.
Meet with our Minister
If you are considering becoming a member, our ministerial staff would like to get to know you better and to answer your questions. To arrange a time, please contact our Member Services & Volunteer Coordinator.
Membership
When you feel UUCR has become your religious home, we would be honored to receive you as a new member and ask you to sign our membership book. Membership at UUCR is a covenant among equals, defined by the bonds and relationships we create together as a religious community. Choosing to become a member of UUCR means that you feel this church makes a difference in your life, giving it greater strength, depth, significance, and direction. It means you feel a sense of belonging and commitment to the liberal religious values this church represents and are willing to participate in and support the life and work of the congregation. If you’re not yet sure, that’s fine. We respect your process and welcome your questions. Please contact Melissa Martin, Member Services & Volunteer Coordinator.
Sign Our Membership Book
- to affirm the purpose and principles of our free religious tradition;
- to enjoy a community of kindred spirits with whom you can feel safe, welcomed, appreciated, and respected;
- to experience spiritual growth for yourself and your children;
- to find beliefs and values put into action through social outreach and education.
Be Welcomed at Our New Member Welcome Service
We hold a New Member Welcome service three times each year, to recognize and welcome new members into the life of the church community. After the service, new members are invited to celebrate with us at Social Hour.
You are invited to become a member of UUCR and join others in this exciting and dynamic community. Here you will have a place where you can grow on your spiritual journey, where you can share both life’s happiest and saddest moments, and where you can work with others to bring peace and justice to the world. To discuss membership in this church, arrange to sign the membership book, or inquire about the next UU Basics Class, please contact Melissa Martin, Member Services & Volunteer Coordinator.
