Re-engaging for the Future
Dear Beloved Community,
We are heading, with commitment and joy, toward connectedness at UUCR. The Governing Board warmly invites you to participate in our UUCR Re-engaging for the Future initiative. Its purpose is to help us learn how to come back together in a healthy and mutually satisfying way after a very long period of disconnection.
This initiative intends to look at and address all aspects of church life: Worship and Spiritual Identity, our UUCR Community, and the ways in which we support and promote Justice. It will address what we can do now and what’s best to do for our future.
Step One was to invite and welcome Deborah Weiner as our transitional ministry associate. Deb’s focus is on worship, pastoral care, rites of passage, and supporting church leadership.
Step Two is inviting you to participate in Conversation Circles, as part of our strategic planning process. All members and friends of UUCR will receive an invitation and explanation by email next week on how to participate in these important discussions. In part the results will provide information for our future ministerial search.
Step Three is for you to take part as you like in a series of spiritual, fellowship, and justice-making activities that the Program Council is scheduling.
Step Four will focus on laying out items to address as we go forward, and gathering teams to address them. We’ll add the preferences the congregation communicates through the Conversation Circles noted in Step Two to the topics that the Governing Board is already addressing*, prioritize them, and engage you in this process.
*Long-term ministry, Programming, Sources of funding, How we communicate our church to the greater community, Property usage and planning
We are very excited about coming together again with all the joys of a re-engaged church community. We need you – and invite you to participate in the planning, the work, and the fun.
