Hello, UUCR!

Oh my goodness, what a full and wonderful week this has been!

I am moving into my office, getting to know my way around your beautiful building, and spending lots of time with the Governing Board and Melissa Martin (your Member Services and Volunteer Coordinator/Interim Congregational Administrator). This Saturday, I’m looking forward to learning even more about your congregation through the Governing Board retreat and, in the coming weeks I cannot wait to meet all of you.

Your talented and fabulous summer worship leader, Katie McQuage-Loukas, will continue to lead worship this summer (although I will stop by to say hello on August 14th and 28th!). Then, we will gather together on September 11th for our Ingathering service. I am so enjoying starting to plan our time together this year and I’m looking forward to hearing your hopes and dreams for our time together.

I hope you will reach out and introduce yourself so we can connect at least virtually until we can meet in person. My email address is [email protected]. While I would love to meet with every congregant and every group who would like to meet in the first two weeks, it is also important to remember that I serve UUCR 30 hours a week. So please email so I can get you on my calendar – but don’t be alarmed if I’m not able to meet as soon as we both might wish! We have so much time to connect and get to know one another.

The thing I love most about ministry is the way we are able to build relationship and community with one another. I hope we can build together in a way that nurtures and cares for your hearts and spirits, and I hope the work we do energizes UUCR as we make our way forward during these challenging times.

I am so lucky to have the opportunity to serve this community. I can’t wait to see what we do together.
