Thanks to the generous donations of items that were bid on, the healthy bids that were made, and the dedication of a small but mighty fundraising crew, our net proceeds from the 2022 Winter Frolic met and then exceeded our goal! Many, many thanks to all who participated, in big ways and small!
Winter Frolic Fundraiser
UUCR’s “Winter Frolic” fundraiser will return in February to help lift spirits and benefit the larger community as well as our own! (A portion of net proceeds will be shared with the Mission of Deeds and Reading POWIR, our local refugee resettlement group this year.) The Winter Frolic is an online Auction, although some items will have fixed prices, and others will go to the highest bidder. We raised over $10,000 with this effort last year and are confident we can do that again now!
Do YOU have something you could donate to this effort? Popular items last year included the use of vacation homes, organized outdoor activities like sailing trips, and meals and baked goods that could be delivered to people’s homes. There were hand-made or new items suitable for gifting. A handful of “Attic Treasures” items sold well too. There were also some popular “services” offered, including gardening, driving and handyman work, and I suspect we just touched the tip of the iceberg with the two gift baskets that were offered.
The auction will open at 9:00 am on Saturday, February 12th and will run for two weeks, so we need to hear from you SOON in order to post your offerings and attract attention. Please reach out to [email protected] to let us know what you can contribute.
Information about how to join the auction will be provided in February.
Winning bidders will be able to pick up physical items at Loring House on the afternoon of Sunday, February 27th, and other goods and services will be delivered at mutually convenient times for donors and winners.
