Beginning on Mother’s Day Sunday (May 9th) UUCR members and friends of all ages are invited to bring a stone representing what is heavy (in heart/thought/spirit) to our campus. Leave your stone in the greening grass to be warmed by the sun and soaked by rain. Stones will lie under clouds and in moonlight as the grass grows up around them, representing the passage of time and transformation.
If you would like to participate but are not able to visit, you may request a stone to be placed in the grass for you at this link: Stone Reflection: Request a Stone Here. If you wish, we will name your heaviness as we select a stone and place it with others at the foot of the tree in front of the building.
Stones will be collected this summer and used gently in art or gardening projects. If you are able to visit campus, please enjoy your time safely and visit the Reflection Station often. Additional dedicated reflection spaces are also in the works, as are more intentional times with others.
