Upcoming Services
Sunday, May 19, 2013 - Two Different Services
"The Senior Bridging Service"
Rev. Tim Kutzmark, Seth Robinson (Youth Coordinator), and members of the Senior High Youth Program
9:15 AM
One of the most important things a congregation can do is to join together to celebrate rites of passage and the cycles of life: birth, coming of age, life transitions, marriage, and death. Join us for our annual service celebrating our graduating high school seniors and their passage to young adulthood. The UUCR Adult Choir will sing, several of our graduating seniors will share from their heart, and we’ll join in sacred ritual to honor and bless our high school students who will be making this important rite of passage.
(Note: This service is being offered only at the 9:15 AM service, Rev. Tim will preach and lead regular worship at the 11:00 AM service)
"The Places that Make us Whole"
Rev. Tim Kutzmark, Minister
11:00 AM
The Spanish philosopher Jose Ortega Gassette once said: “Tell me the landscape in which you live, and I will tell you who you are.” Why do the places we live, the places we work and worship, and places in nature balance and rejuvenate us? Rev. Tim offers an encore of one of his favorite sermons from his first year at UUCR. If you are newer to the church, come to hear a sermon from Rev. Tim’s first year with us. If you are a long-timer, we think the message will ring true even if you heard the sermon eight years ago. Our 11:00 AM service will also include the baby dedication of Zachary Gaffen, son of Erin and Eric Gaffen.
Special Music: Ruth Clogston, flute.
(Note: Rev. Tim is only preaching at 11:00 AM; Bridging Service is at 11:00 AM)
The Annual Meeting will follow the 11:00 AM service. All members are requested to attend to approve FY 13-14 Budget and elect new officers to the Governing Board.

"Awakened by Song"
Memorial Day Service
Betsy Tabor, Intern Minister
9:15 AM and 11:00 AM
Music takes us deep, to a place beyond thought and reason. Music that resonates for us takes up lodging in our souls—listening, humming and singing along can move us to strong emotion or bring us a sense of comfort or peace. Familiar American camp fire songs will be our gateway to observing this Memorial Day. What is it about these old songs that awakens our dreams and longings?
Special music: Jim Sopchak
