In our Unitarian Universalist tradition, we celebrate the life of a child with a welcoming Child Dedication ceremony, sometimes taking place during a regular Sunday worship service. During the ceremony the congregation declares its commitment to the children and their families, including in our religious education program, and affirms the child’s unique life. Child Dedication ceremonies celebrated during Sunday Worship Services are for those children who will be raised within the Unitarian Universalist faith and the UUCR church community. Some families prefer a private ceremony and these can be arranged by our minister.  If you would like your child dedicated at our next Child Dedication service, please contact Melissa Martin, Member Services and Volunteer Coordinator.
