Through UUCR Sunday services led by its founder Clementina Chéry, years of participation in the Mother’s Day March for Peace, and fundraising efforts, UUCR members have learned from and supported the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute in Dorchester. In 2015, about 60 UUCR women, men, children, and youth followed the church’s banner alongside thousands of others committed to “sustain[ing] the Peace Institute as a center of healing, teaching, and learning for families impacted by murder, grief, trauma, and loss” and celebrating the “potential to create communities where all families can live in peace and all children are valued.”
