This is an informal group that changes from year to year, according to participants’ time and interest. Susanne Sullivan puts out a call by email for people interested in helping to create a church raffle quilt in January each year, and those who choose to participate commonly meet once or twice a month (at a mutually convenient place and time) to plan and create a quilt. The work is generally done by May, and the finished quilt is raffled off at the Kris Kringle Fair in November. We welcome sewers and quilters of all levels, from beginner to advanced. We find it excellent fellowship, and sometimes raise a significant amount of money for the church through our efforts. Some of these folks have worked on a church raffle quilt annually for more than 25 years; others help out once and then turn to other things. Some of the quilters gather occasionally throughout the year to work on donations for the Kris Kringle Fair Boutique, as well. Attached are photos of the 2012 (left) and 2014 (right) quilters.
